The Doughboy discovers Web 2.0

Hello Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls!

Finally, The Blog is up and running. I am excited for the oppurtunities this blog will bring for communication and the interaction of thought and observation. I am a big believer in open and honest discussion, set forth in a spirit of understanding. This does not mean I support statements that are laced with ignorance, a lack of morals, or racist undertones.

I have heard blogs refered to as rant boxes, this is not my intention. My intention is to provide myself and others a place to post intraspective thoughts and observations, that and to be a little silly at times. That pretty much describes me in a nutshell: Sweet, Salty, and a bit nuts.

As I've said before, I apologize in advance if I offend anyone. I had a teacher once that told me there are three things you never discuss because it always ends in an argument: Religion, Politics and Money. While I will at times touch on these topics, I am not looking to start an argument or to be hurtful, or to downgrade anyone.

I am a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and consider myself a fairly open minded person, and independent thinker. I also consider myself to be pretty well informed. I do not believe in partisan politics but instead believe one should be guided by compassion, common sense, embracing ideas that provide progress, growth, access and a sense of accountability. I do not support the war in Iraq, but do support the war in Afghanistan, but in both cases support the young men and women who so willingly and bravely volunteer their time and in too many cases their lives in seeking to uphold the ideals upon which America is founded. I am also not a huge fan of the President. Now that you knows this, my cards are on the table and we can proceed.

Enjoy and let none of us take ourselves too seriously.
